RNDT News 2010 – RNDT Inc., has a state of the art computed radiographic (CR) scanner that has been added to their list of services offered to their clients.  We can now offer digital images to our clients in lieu of the traditional film based radiography currently offered.

RNDT, Inc. recently comissioned its 9th mobile darkroom for field applications.  All of the mobile darkrooms on the road for RNDT are unique in that they all have on board computer systems that are utilized for computerized report generation on site.  No hand written test reports.  When the mobile darkroom returns to our laboratory, the computer system automatically synchronizes with the main frame system.

RNDT is gaining strength in the Marcellus Shale Natural Gas play in Pennsylvania.  To date, we have been instrumental in prividing radiographic and magnetic particle testing services on 45 gathering lines, over 100 manifold, metering and scrubbing pipe assemblies, 12 new compressor stations, lifting devices, cementing apparatuses, drilling tools, mud motors, drill pipe and other critical applications.

RNDT is awarded a contract to perform radiographic testing on 100 ton lifting devices for military shipbuilding applications.  The chain link lifting devices have 5″ diameter master links, 3″ diameter connecting links and 2″ chain links.  RNDT will perform radiography on the welded links.

RNDT is awarded a contract renewal to supply welder certification services to a prominent welding technology school.  There was over 500 welders examined in 2010.  There is expected to be in excess of 700 welders tested and certified in 2011.

RNDT is contracted to perform Cobalt radiography on first article coupler and yoke castings for the railroad industry.  These castings will be sent to South Africa for rigorous cycle testing to qualify the new design for a large American foundry.

RNDT is contracted to detect molybdenum wire contamination in Titanium billets.  A high resolution radiographic technique was developed to resolve wire a small as 0.005″ diameter.

RNDT, Inc. is awarded an open end contract to provide water washable fluorescent penetrant testing services on a wide variety of Aluminum structures for modifications to the M1A1 and M1A2 Abrams tank.

RNDT, Inc. is awarded a contract to provide around-the-clock radiographic coverage to a high pressure piping fabricator for piping manifolds used a gas well sites for gas cleaning/scrubbing equipment.  Contract is to be through 2011 for the first phase.

RNDT is awarded a two year contract to perform water washable fluorescent liquid penetrant testing on large aluminum castings used in the medical industry.  These castings are for special fixtures used to hold high-energy X-ray machines used for radiation treatment.

RNDT is awarded an open end contract to perform liquid penetrant testing services on pump components that will be used in offshore drilling operations in Brazil.
